#Romania has condemned #Russia 's latest attack against a port on the #Danube River, saying it was a violation of intnl law. Several waves of #Russian #drones were launched on Sat, hitting port infrastructure in the #Ukrainian city of Reni. The port sits just across the river from Romania, a member of the NATO alliance. Russia has repeatedly attacked ports on the Danube, since Ukraine increased its use of the river for exporting crops. (cont.)
A senior #Turkish official has said the government is hoping a new deal can be negotiated with #Russia to allow the export of grain through the Black Sea. The Turkish and #Russian Presidents will meet on Monday, and the Turkish foreign policy advisor, Akif Cagatay Kilic, has confirmed that reaching agreement on cargo shipments will be on the agenda. A #curfew in the multi-ethnic #Iraqi city of #Kirkuk is reported to have now been lifted, after clashes there left at least three people dead and more than a dozen injured. There had been tensions for days - with Arab and Turkmen groups trying to stop the Kurdistan Democratic Party from returning to its former headquarters in the city.
